Second training at Stelvio. Kilde is the fastest.

Stelvio is faster and more beautiful than ever,

Stelvio is faster and more beautiful than ever, thanks to the work of the team coordinated by Massimo Rinaldi too, the jet men took part in the second and final training, testing the best lines the day before the big event: tomorrow’s classic Stelvio DH race, one of the most waited for of the season, a race that tests muscles and minds of all downhillers. A race that can be worth an entire season.

Aleksander Aamodt Kilde was the fastest one (1’52"26), second best time for Swiss Niels Hintermann and third best time for Canadian Alexander Cameron. An excellent performance for the Norwegian champion who will try to grab his first DH victory at Stelvio tomorrow morning. Frenchman Sarrazin fourth place, after Tuesday’s fastest performance. Among the other big names worth mentioning: Odermatt's ninth place ahead of an excellent and increasingly decisive Mattia Casse’s tenth place: he leads the Azzurri team with Giovanni Franzoni (thirteenth place), Florian Schieder (nineteenth place) and Domme Paris - the king of Stelvio with 6 DH victories and a Super-G one (twenty-fifth place). The Austrian Kriechmayr, the winner in last year’s DH edition, did a very good performance until he decided to slow down in the final part and save energies for tomorrow.

Words by the athletes

Aleksander Aamodt Kilde
“It’s Stelvio at its best, fast and icy. It’s always nice to be here, now I need a little rest. I’m ready for tomorrow and want to go faster…”.

Marco Odermatt
“The slope looks good, it’s a little bit icier than yesterday but tonight will be warmer so, again, less icy. We’ll see..”.

Mattia Casse

"If they were afraid it wouldn’t be polished… I tell them all that now the slope is polished. What a very demanding Stelvio! It's not the hardest ever but it's already quite interesting. I'm feeling better and better, more and more confident, now the goal is to trust my conditions and continue on this path. Tomorrow we will all be there, I expect a good tight race, wer are a lot and many people are skiing well..."
