Kilde is the fastest in today's training.

Mattia Casse scored an excellent second place.

Date:27.12.2022

Kilde was in great shape in today’s second training at Stelvio. The fastest downhiller of this first part of the season (3 DH victories out of 4) impressed everyone with his confidence and set the best time (1’56"27) . He will be one of the natural favourites in tomorrow's DH race, one he has never won in the past. An excellent Mattia Casse is right behind him (+1”13) and showed great solidity. Third place for Austrian Matthias Meyer, another athlete who has already tamed Stelvio once, (+1"58). Canadian Crowford did well too (4th place +1"66), and American Cochran Siegle (+1”68). Odermatt got to the finish line with +2"74 just behind Pinturault, but the Swiss looked calm and determined to do well tomorrow. Swiss Beat Feuz (who announced the end of his career in Bormio yesterday) was not at the starting gate and is back home because of an indisposition. He won’t be at the start tomorrow and on Thursday 29 too. There’ll be a victory missing in his fantastic palmares as he’s never been the fastest in Bormio.

Words by the athletes

Mathias Mayer
"Stelvio is pretty good this year, very icy and bumpy, as we know it. My feelings for tomorrow? We'll see, it’s gonna be exciting".

Aleksander Aamodt Kilde
"Today I skied with a bit of a different attitude, I felt really confident and was running really smooth. Today was a bit dark, a bit harder but if I keep the lines tomorrow it will be fun".

Dominik Paris
"Unfortunately I didn’t succeed in testing a few parts as I would have liked. I don't know what happened but I think I hit a stone in the upper part and was no longer able to keep the lines. Tomorrow’s race? I know what I need to do here at Stelvio and doing well in the race is what counts the most".

Mattia Casse
"I tried to do better than the first training, when I felt a little less confident. Today I tried to do more, there's work to be done, Kilde went fast and is a good reference. Al always, Stelvio is tough, very beautiful and very hard".
