Wine in Lombardy is synonymous with landscape richness and variety, but it is also love for work and respect for tradition, all combined with a desire for continuous research and experimentation. All these elements have contributed to the growth of Lombardy as a wine making region, reaching levels of excellence on a national and international level over the years.
From the vineyards of Franciacorta, immersed in the splendid hilly landscape, from which some of the greatest Italian bubbles are born, to Lake Garda where the wine tradition is an integral part of history, culture and landscape, from Oltrepò Pavese, the first area wine production in Lombardy by extension, up to Valtellina where robust mountain wines are born.
A glance is enough to recognize Valtellina's wine landscape among a hundreds.
It is all a succession of terraces that climb tenaciously around the mountains.
The landscape of the “heroic” vineyards can be discovered by car, following the Strada del Vino from cellar to cellar, or if you prefer on foot or by bicycle along the Sentiero Valtellina or the Via dei Terrazzamenti.
